Zone Health combats childhood obesity by helping schools promote good nutrition and physical activity before, during, and after the school day.
NC Prevention Partners also offers programs to support healthy employees and staff at hospitals and businesses of every size.

Zone Health is a program designed by NC Prevention Partners with support from GlaxoSmithKline Community Partnerships to combat childhood obesity through schools. It helps schools improve their nutrition and physical activity environments using evidence-based resources. These changes give students, faculty, and staff more opportunities to eat healthy food, get physically active, and improve their health.
Zone Health offers schools the following program features:
- Zone Health training session
- Ongoing Support and Customized Follow Up
- Regular email communications
- News on grants, resources, and low-cost wellness programs
Several school teams across NC are trained in using Zone Health. These schools know how to: form a diverse school wellness team, assess their school’s wellness environment, identify wellness areas in need of improvement, initiate an Action Plan using low-cost programs and equipment, write policies that support healthy weight , and monitor and evaluate their success over time.
